God’s Grace is Sufficient

December 15, 2017

Your grace is sufficient . . .

To start my day,

And lead me on the way.

To help in time of need,

and guide me through every deed.

To encourage me to keep pressing,

when circumstances a round me are depressing.

To enter into a state of rest,

and constantly strive to do my best.

Enter into God’s presence and He will give me rest.

The Branch of Christ

October 20, 2017

THE BRANCH

The branch looks insignificant to our eyes,

But in reality it is a reflection of our heart in disguise.

God prunes the branches so it can bear more fruit and more blessings.

This is achieved through our testings.

The testings we experience are designed to increase our faith and patience.

Knowing and embracing that God is our strength and promoter – our source for all our needs.

As we trust and obey Him through our deeds.

God prunes our branches everyday.

If by abiding in Him (the Word) we will stay.

The branch is intricately connected to the vine (Jesus Christ)

Our source of treasures divine.

Treasures of love, joy, and peace;

That will never cease.

THE BRANCH OF CHRIST

Jesus is the vine – the foundation from which branches (Christians) grow.

The branch is a byproduct of Jesus with the same infrastructure as God.  It is intimately and intricately attached to the vine, and its very life is dependent upon the vine (Jesus Christ – The Word).  The vine is the life-giver to the branch.  It contains all the necessary nutrients needed for the branch to grow.  The life of the branch is totally dependent on the vine (Jesus Christ – Word of God).

The Word is the nourishment for the branch, and Christians are the branches.  In order to grow, we must obtain the proper nourishment – we must get into the Word of God by reading, studying, and meditating on the Word of God.

We must remain constant (steadfast – unmovable – rooted and grounded) in the Word in order to continue growing (advancing).  If we stop abiding (dwelling) in the Word, we stop growing.  If we are not growing then we can’t bear fruit.

Abide in me, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye except ye abide in me. (John 15:4-5)

Abide – to sojourn; dwell; remain

Fruit – the offspring of living things; the results of fulfilling the goals and purposes that God has ordained for our life.

Therefore, in order for Christians to bear fruit, we must:

  •  Abide in Jesus Christ (The Word).  Develop an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ so that we develop the character of Christ in our lives, and be true Ambassadors for Christ.
  • Allow the Word to remain in us. Our hearts and minds must be filled with the Word of God; let it outpour from the very depths of our soul through our confessing the Word over our lives and circumstances, and testifying to what Jesus has and is doing in our lives.

The power of life and death is in the tongue.

We overcome the world by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of our testimony. (Revelation 12:1)

Live the Word.  Apply God’s Word in every area of our lives.  This includes:

*   Giving

*  Praying

*  Marriage

*  Relating to Others

*  Fellowshiping with others

As we live the Word, we Walk in the Spirit.

When we (branches/Christians) are constantly nurtured by the Word of God, then we are constantly developing the mind and character (thoughts an attitudes) of Jesus Christ.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:2)

As our thoughts and attitudes are transformed, then our actions (fruit) become Christ-like

and give glory and honor to God.

As we (Christians) take the steps necessary to bear fruit, we are walking worthy of God because [Colossians 1:9-10] says:

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.

Benefits of Bearing Fruit are:

Joy is everlasting.  Our joy becomes everlasting as we continue to abide in the love of Jesus Christ.  Our lives must reflect the love of Jesus Christ toward our brothers, sisters and enemies.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love. (I John 4:7-8)

You may ask, what does it mean when it says ”God is love”. It means that God’s thoughts and ways reflect (show) love.  We see God’s thoughts and ways through his son, Jesus – how Jesus acted in many different situations and responded and related to people. We know that this is how God would act because Jesus says I only do what I see my Father do.  So our example of love is Jesus Christ, who sacrificed his life, so we would be saved from eternal death in hell.  We are to follow in his footsteps in thought, word, and action.

Let brotherly love continue. (Hebrews 13:1)

It is important that we walk in love because when we walk in love, we walk in the nature and character of Jesus Christ, and produce fruit that is a byproduct of love. It is a byproduct of love because the very source of the fruit is love.  In the Word, God says that one of the fruits of the Sprit is LOVE.  (Galatians 5:22)

When we walk in love, we walk in righteousness (holiness).  God command us to love one another.

This is my commandment, that ye love one another as I have loved you. (John 15:12)

These things I command you that ye love one another. (John 15:17)

Help others by edifying (lifting) and ministering to them.

Consequences of Not Abiding in Jesus are:

  1. You become detached from Jesus like a branch detached from a tree, which cannot bear fruit because it is no longer connected to its source of  nourishment. It’s not getting what it needs to grow and produce fruit.
  2. You wither away spiritually, physically, and mentally.
  3. Men begin to use you for their own destructive purposes.  You are no longer of use for the kingdom of God.  Don=t be a branch that is severed from the vine and cast to the ground to be gathered for burning; be a branch that dwells in Jesus and produces much fruit – results from God-given purposes and goals.

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. (John 15:16)

You didnt choose me, I chose you and appointed you to produce fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. (John 15:16)

What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed?  For the end of those things is death.  But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end of everlasting life. (Romans 6:21-22)

Were you bearing fruit when you were a slave to sin?  No, because those things you did caused shame and only resulted in death.  The wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23)

When you became saved through confession and believing in Jesus Christ, you became a servant to God, and only what you do becomes fruitful because your thoughts and actions are righteous (holy).

What you do for Christ will last.

You are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

October 6, 2017

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”  (Psalm 139:14)

The Hebrew word for fearfully is yare (yaw ray) which means to revere (respect).

The Hebrew word for “wonderfully” is palah (pawwah) which means to put a difference, show marvelous, set apart.

When God made you, He made you a respectable marvelous masterpiece.  He carefully formed you with unique character and personality and designed you with unique spiritual gifts to use to bless others and give Him glory.

He created you with a unique purpose. Once you discover your purpose and start fulfilling your purpose, then you will have inner fulfillment, peace, and joy.  When you walk i your purpose, you walk in fulfillment; you walk in Divine Completeness, and no man and no circumstance, or trial and tribulation can stop you.  When you walk in your purpose, you open the door of prosperity.  God has given power to get wealth; your gift will make room for itself.  When you walk in your purpose you walk in what God has set apart for you to do, and you please God.

Dispell the Doubt

July 21, 2017

Many people think that success is measured by the size house they have, the amount of clothes they have and the amount of money they have in the bank.  However, this is not true.  Success is using your God-given gifts for the glory of God.  But, you first have to discover your God-given gifts.

Steps to Achieving Success are:

Humble yourself (surrender your mind, body, and spirit to God).

Be patient (waiting and expecting God to lead and guide you).

Endure trials and tribulations.

Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.  Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.  But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing(James 1:2-4)

Seek God by using the R-S-M Method

This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it.  For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. (Joshua 1:8)

But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. (Matthew  6:33)

Walk in the purposes of God, constantly obeying God’s leading and direction – moving forward and moving onward toward completion.

As you walk  in your God-given purpose, you will experience:

  • Divine strength
  • Divine ability
  • Divine Love, peace, and joy
  • Divine completion
  • Divine victory

SEEKING THE FACE OF GOD

When we seek God’s Face, we behold beauty and glory,

which takes us beyond the tallest building story.

Walking, running, and yielding toward God’s way

on the straight and narrow path we will stay.

A path full of love, joy, peace, and blessings,

if we are faithful to trust God through our testings.

O God, faithful and true,

thanks for leading and guiding us always to you.

Developing Christian Character

June 16, 2017

Developing Christian Character

Faith produces virtue > knowledge > self-control > steadfastness > godliness > brotherly affection > Christian Love

When you develop these qualities, they will keep you from being idle (unfruitful) unto the Lord Jesus Christ.

  Messiah  –     Anointed One

If you lack these qualities, you are spiritually blind and lack vision.

“My people perish for a lack of vision.”  (Proverbs 29:18)

There are four types of vision:

Myopic Vision – People with myopic vision are nearsighted that they live only for today. Their vision of the future is fuzzy. They can barely see beyond their noses.

Peripheral Vision – People with peripheral vision are blindsided by side issues. These visionaries are hampered in moving forward because they catch the threatening images of lurking problems in the corners of their eyes. They are fearful of shadowy difficulties and people lurking on the sidelines who will defeat their efforts. These folks are easily distracted.

Tunnel Vision – People with tunnel vision see only what is dead ahead of them and assume that their slender view of reality reflects the whole world. They don’t see other persons or other issues.

Panoramic Vision – People with panoramic vision see the “Big Picture”. They see beyond today. They see what is ahead of them and what is to their sides. They have a basic understanding of the key ingredients of a healthy organization and know the steps necessary to take to get them there.

MAKE SURE YOUR VISION IS PANORAMIC, so you can be

Productive and Move Forward.

Peace Be Still

March 30, 2017

Like the storm raged against the boat, storms such as financial loss, loss of a loved one, sickness can rage in our lives. However, we must have faith (dependence, trust, and confidence) in God to give us peace in the midst of the storm. If you do not have faith, then the storms of life will overtake you and consume you so that we become weak and utterly destroyed.

If you keep our minds focused on Jesus Christ (Word of God), rather than your circumstances, then we will live a life filled with joy and peace; knowing that God is your strength and deliverer. God says in John 14:27 to cast all our burdens upon the Lord and He will give you rest.

God give you peace. As a child of God this is part of your inheritance. However, you must receive God’s gift of peace.

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

Accepting the Peace of God is a choice. If you decide to accept His peace, you will remain at peace in spite of the fear and worry that the world promotes. You will be at peace in the midst of trials and tribulations. These trials and tribulations are designed to strengthen your faith, and enhance your endurance, steadfastness and patience. You will be able to stand surefooted on the Word of God, trusting the Lord Jesus Christ in spite of negative circumstances.

Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.” (James 1:3-4)

However, if you do not accept God’s peace, you experience doubt, worry, and fear. You will experience a life of restlessness, rather than restfulness. Putting God first is the antidote to doubt, fear and worry.

When you accept the peace God gives you, the negativity and wickedness cannot and will not affect you.

“If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.” (John 15:19)

I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.” (John 17:14)

Remember, you are “in the world, but not of the world”. That is, you don’t’ live by the ideals, customs, and attitudes of the world, but by the principles of God’s Word. God’s Word is your Instructional manual for life. It rules and reigns in your life. Your thoughts and actions become aligned with the Word of God.

“And let the peace from Christ rule in your hearts (deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as one body you were also called to live. And be thankful (appreciative), giving praise to God always.” (Colossians 3:15)

The trials and tribulations you experience draw you closer to God and His Word. Thereby, increasing your faith in God to help you overcome your trials and tribulations. “Great deliverances and triumphs gives He to His king; and He shows mercy and steadfast love to His anointed, to David and his offspring forever.” (Psalm 18:50)

“Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” (Romans 10:17)

If you have faith in the Word of God, and endure the trials and tribulations until the victory is manifested, you will surely develop patience and steadfastness in moving forward in life = doing what God is leading you to do and fulfilling your God-given purpose.
