Prayer – Poem

May 19, 2017

Talking to my Father God with a sincere heart.

Pleasing my case, and asking for it to be erased.

He removes every ounce of darkness form my life,

and fills it with brightness from the light.

I long to tell God what is on my mind,

and what my heart desires to find.

Because after I talk with my Father, casting all my burdens on Him,

I know that I can only continue going down the path of righteousness further.

Yes, Prayer  changes things, and helps me break the chains.

Purpose of Prayer

  1. To come to God with your needs and desires
  2. To ask God to change things on the Earth.
  3. Express Your Love and Gratitude to God

Why Should WE PRAY

  1. To communicate with God and develop an intimate relationship with Him.  God desires fellowship and intimacy with His children.
  2. Prayer accelerates God’s plans and purposes for your life.  When you fail to pray, you delay and frustrate the pans and purposes of God. “And I beg of you to pray for us the more earnestly, in order that I may be restored to you the sooner.” (Hebrews 13:19)
  3. It is a vehicle that God uses to heal others

“And the prayer of faith will save him who is sick, and the Lord will restore him; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.  Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart].  The earnest prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available. (James 5:15-16)

Your prayers can cause God to act on behalf of others through healing, making the person whole through restoration, and forgiving the person.

Your prayers also help you to repent of your wrongdoings through confessing your faults, negative ways (for example, criticizing others), and sins, so that God may forgive you.  Confession is the heart of Repentance.  You must first confess your wrongdoings and then ask God to forgive you.  Once He forgives you, receive His forgiveness by not continuing to have a guilty conscious.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (I John 1:9)

The devil likes to reminds us of our past wrongdoings, but if you have confessed them, and God has forgiven you, then there is no need for you to feel guilty.  God has put all of your sins into the Sea of Forgetfulness, and you should do the same.

“I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own; but one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead.  I press on toward the goal to win the prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward. (Philippians 3:13-14)

  1. Help others through Intercessory Prayer

Touching others lives by asking for protection, comfort, and transformed hearts and attitudes (I Timothy 2:1-5, Hebrews 7:24-25, Acts 6:4)

If you do not have a set time to pray, you will not pray.” (John Wesley)

What makes your prayer powerful? The Word of God

  • God and His Word are One.  “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was god Himself.  He was present originally with God.  All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without him was not even one thing made that has come into being.” (John 1:1)
  • The Word of God gives us direction.  “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105) “In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.” (Proverbs 3:6)
  • God watches over His Word to fulfill it.  The Word has the power to create the desired result.  “So shall My word be that goes forth out my mouth it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)
  • The Word makes your prosperity fruitful (good success).  “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but they shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it.  For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.” (Joshua 1:8)
  • Jesus name is above every name“Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name.  That in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.” (Philippians 2:9)
  • The blood seals the prayer.
  • Jesus gave me the assurance that every prayer would be answered.
  • Jesus gives me the authority to pray.  “. . . All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.” (Matthew 28:18)

What are the fruits of prayer?

  1. A heart cleansing from sin (Psalm 19:12-13, Psalm 51:2)
  2. Knowledge of Self (Romans 7:18)
  3. Promotes Wisdom (James 1:5)
  4. Brings God’s Power into our work (acts 4:24)
  5. Helps to Evangelize the World

Pray Without Ceasing

December 21, 2014

Rejoice evermore.  Pray without ceasing.  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (I Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Pray without ceasing does not meant to always talk and get on your knees an pray.  It means don’t give up on the power of prayer.  Don’t be come discouraged by life, trials, disappointments, and pain, that you do not pray.

Don’t Stop Praying!!!

Practice getting in to the presence of God; cultivating prayer – communication with God.  Pray frequently and constantly.  Nothing is too big or small to pray about.  Pray because of the following reasons:

  1. It will make you a bigger person on the inside and maybe your circumstances better.
  2. It helps you to develop a habit of rejoicing, praising God and giving thanks unto God.
  3. It helps you not to complain and murmur.

Prayer Sandwich =  Rejoice Always in the Lord + Pray without Ceasing + Give Thanks

Prayer releases the power of God to accomplish God’s purpose on earth, not yours.  God’s purpose for your life is good and best.    Prayer is never wasted even though your request is not answered with a “Yes”.

God wants you to pray and rejoice in the midst of trials and tribulations.  Praise and thanksgiving keeps me going while you are waiting for God to answer my prayers according to His will that is best or you and fits into God’s divine purpose for your life.  He is not going to give you what looks good, but what is good and best for you.

Prayer is a process – you pray and wait, but rejoice and give thanks during the waiting period.  You need patience and to surrender to God’s will.

Prayer is never wasted, but an investment in the fulfillment of your destiny.

Prayer of Agreement

September 8, 2013

The prayer of agreement gets its power from the level of unity manifested.  It multiplies the effects of your faith and prayers.

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”  (Psalm 133:1)

“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”  (Acts 2:4)

Agreement  = Harmonizing (Symphony)

The Holy Spirit is the Conductor.  Love is the key we sing in and the Word of God is the sheet music by which we conduct our lives.

Agreement takes place in Jesus’ name under His authority, consistent with His character for the glory of God.

The Effects of Praying in Agreement are:

  1. God releases His power from heaven.
  2. Jesus releases His presence on earth, resulting in the breakthrough being generated and completed.

If there is a lack of total agreement on the part of one or several people, it can limit or restrict the power of God moving in the situation that is being prayed for.

Things that trigger God to Move are:

  • Strong Faith
  • Passionate Praise
  • Sacrificial Giving
  • Unity

God’s Healthcare Plan

May 26, 2013

  1. Introduction
  2. God’s name is Jehovah Rapha, the God that healeth thee

(Exodus 15:26)

3.  God’s will is that His people be in health (3 John 2)

  1. God has programmed health and healing into our DNA.
  2. God is able to keep us well and disease free (Psalms 103:1-5; Deuteronomy 34:7)
  3. Why are God’s people living in a state of disease?
    1. Christians lack knowledge. (Hosea 4:6)
    2. Christians are violating natural and spiritual laws (Exodus 15:26)
    3. Christians are failing to mix the Word of God with faith (Hebrews 4:2)
    4. Christians are sowing to the flesh and reaping corruption(Galatians 4:8)

Christians are eating and drinking unworthily  (I Corinthians 11:29)

Christians are not discerning the Lord’s body (I Corinthians 11:29)

God’s health care program has a supernatural component.

Jesus bore our sins and our sicknesses (Isaiah 53:4-5)

    1. The healing anointing is on theWord and it heals supernaturally. (Psalm 107:20)
    2. The power in the Word to heal is released by mixing the Word with faith.
    3. Take God’s Word as food daily (Proverbs 4:20-22)
  1. God’s divine health has a natural component.
    1. God promises divine health through food and water (natural law). (Exodus 23:25-26)
    2. The natural laws that were part of the old covenant were a crucial part of God’s health care system for His covenant people. (Daniel 1:12-16; I Timothy 5:23)
    3. We should not expect God to repeal the laws of biochemistry that He established by His Word to govern the operations of our bodies, but must understand and obey them.
    4. Poor diet is a primary factor behind most diseases.

Prayer Is Not an Option

May 7, 2013

In I Thessalonians 5:17 it says, “Pray without ceasing”.  Therefore, it is vital that we pray regularly and consistently.

Prayer is powerful, and when combined wit faith will yield supernatural results.  For example, suppose you have a stomachache, and you pray and ask God to heal your stomach; and 15 minutes later you notice your stomach has stopped hurting.  Because you asked God to heal you, you received your healing.  If you didn’t ask God, you would not have received your healing.

Many times people want God to do things in their life such as increase finances; cancel debts, and provide money to pay their mortgage, but they never ask God.  When you pray, you must make specific request to God.

Philippians 4:6 says Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Matthew 6:5-8 says Also when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward in full already.  But when you pray, go into your [most] private room, and, closing the door, pray to your Father, Who is in secret; and your Father, Who sees in secret, will reward you in the open.  And when you pray, do not heap up phrases (multiply words, repeating the same ones over and over) as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for their much speaking.  Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.”

Also when you pray to God (Jesus Christ) pray with sincerity and believe that you have received what you have prayed for. Begin thanking God. For example, if you have a business and you ask God to send clients and referrals, begin thanking Him for sending them.  Then you will see it manifest.  One time I prayed for this and within 10 minutes of praying the phone rang, and the person on the other end became a client.  God has continued to send clients and referrals, as I am faithful to ask Him.

Mark 11:23 says  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”

I John 5:14-15 saysAnd this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us.  And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.”

And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and [really] believing, you will receive.”  (Matthew 21:22)

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”  (James 5:16)

Fervent means zeal; passion.  Therefore, you must have a zeal to pray for you and for others.  If you have lost your zeal, pray and ask God to restore your zeal to pray.

“Be unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly].”  (I Thessalonians 5:17)

I challenge you to pray fervently and without ceasing, believing that you have received you petitions of God.

Reaching Forth in Christ Jesus

December 22, 2012

We strive to do what is right.

Making sure our spiritual light shines bright.

We are the children of God, and desire to be one with Him.

But it takes dedication, loyalty, and commitment to follow His Word.

It is important for us to stay close to Jesus in these last and evil days,

because Satan would love to destroy our righteous ways.

Be strong, be vigilant, and steadily walk.

Just don’t play a game with just talk.

God knows our every thought and action,

So don’t delay, stay on the straight and narrow road using traction.

GOD IS LOVE.  He is the truth and the way.

Our Christian walk with Jesus Christ is real, and we should not play.

Press on, press on and reach forth for the things of God in love.

We have a calling and purpose that God has ordained from heaven above.

Don’t be anxious to do those things that require great and less,

Because God’s timing is the best.

Rest in Him, and He will show you the rest.
