Canopy Of Love

CANOPY OF LOVE

L = Loyal

O = Obedient to the Word

V = Victorious in every situation

E = Exceeding greatness (blessings)

Love (God = Jesus = Word) is the key to success (fulfilling your God-given purpose).

When you abide in love (God = Jesus = Word) then you avail yourself to divine protection spiritual understanding, wisdom, grace and faith.  Your life explodes with blessings and you receive the desires of your heart.

“You have given him his heart’s desire and have not withheld the request of his lips.  Selah.  For you send blessings of good things to meet him. You set a crown of pure gold on his head.  (Psalm 21:2-3)

“For the king trusts, relies on, and is confident in the Lord, and through the mercy and steadfast love of the most high he will never be moved.”  (Psalm 21:6)

The king received all of the desires of His heart and blessings because he trusted in, relied on, and was assured in the Lord.  He knew without doubt that the promises of God were true and they would be fulfilled.  He knew this because the Word says so, and through his experience – he got the desires of His heart, and received good blessings.

Now in order for this to happen, what kind of relationship must be the king have had – a close relationship with Jesus Christ founded on love and faith.  The closeness is reflected in the degree of trust the king had for the Lord.

“Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, but acknowledge him in all of your ways, and he will direct your paths.  (Proverbs 3:5-7)

“The just shall live by faith.”  (Habbakuk 2:4)  It is impossible to please God without faith.”

The king had constant faith, and was never moved from this faith – never allowed doubt to come in.  Sometimes we allow doubt to come in by what other people say and what they think of us.  But the most important thing is what does God think of me? Are my thoughts and actions pleasing Him.

The whole duty of man is to love God and keep His commandments.
(Ecclesiastes 12:13)

You can’t love God and keep His commandments by pleasing other people because their thoughts and ways do not agree with the Word of God.  They are not the same as God’s thoughts and ways.

You discover God’s thoughts and ways by reading, studying and meditating on the Word of God.

Tearing Down the Walls

September 21, 2015

Many people have walls that encase them in an emotional prison, which stifles their spiritual growth and prevents them from living a life of joy and fulfillment.

The Torn Walls

Walls, Walls, Walls.

Some are made of concrete and wood.

Some are physical and spiritual.

Many people use them as barriers to close themselves in, and to shut others out. The reasons for these barriers range from being alone to hiding one’s true motives needs, and desires. These walls prevent us from walking in the true light where JESUS CHRIST guides our steps.

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delighteth in his way.”   (Psalm 37:23)

“A man’s heart deviseth his way, but the Lord directeth his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)

For God said in the Word, walk as children of the light and be ambassadors for Christ, for I am the truth, the way, and the life. As my representatives, you must walk as I walk, and talk as I talk, or you are none of mine.

Remember, you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32)

Like constructed walls are designed to support the foundation in a house, so our spiritual walls of love, joy, peace, faith, truth, temperance, endurance, and meekness, support and elevate our spirit, which is rooted and grounded in the foundation – Jesus Christ.

If these spiritual walls are not firmly in place, we will surely become like a landfill – wide open to receive all kinds of debris in the form of false doctrines, founded on manipulative schemes, which will undoubtedly cause confusion in the greatest degree.

These walls inhibit them from moving past their pain into God’s plan of love, joy, peace, and abundance.

The only way they can move past their pain is to tear down the walls they have built by:

(1)       Accepting the truth about themselves

(2)       Asking God to heal their heart, mind, and emotions

(3)       Forgiving themselves and the person(s) who hurt and mistreated them

Then and only then can they leave the past and move forward and live a joyful and victorious life in Jesus Christ.

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” (Philippians 3:13)

How many of you have built walls that you want to tear down?

SELF EVALUATION – be truthful; don’t wear a mask.

“We Wear the Mask” – Paul Laurence Dunbar

We wear the mask that grins and lies,
It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes,–
This debt we pay to human guile;
With torn and bleeding hearts we smile,
And mouth with myriad subtleties.

Why should the world be overwise,
In counting all our tears and sighs?
Nay, let them only see us, while
We wear the mask.

We smile, but, O great Christ, our cries
To thee from tortured souls arise.
We sing, but oh the clay is vile
Beneath our feet, and long the mile;
But let the world dream otherwise,
We wear the mask!

Many of you are wearing a mask, but you must remove it so you can move forward in every area of your life – spiritually, physically, and emotionally, and live a joyful and victorious life in Jesus Christ.

Unforgiveness is like a 100-pound weight that is pressing down on you. The longer you allow the weight to press you down, the heavier the burden, and the harder it will be to remove it.

When you are burdened down, you become immobilized emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Emotionally – you become angry, resentful and bitter toward the people who hurt you and mistreated you. This also spills over into your relationships with friends, family, and spouse because you become irritable, harsh, unkind, ill-tempered, degrading, and unloving.

Physically – anger, resentment and bitterness causes stress, which manifest itself in sickness and disease.

“A calm and peaceful and tranquil heart is life and health to the body, but passion and envy are like rottenness to the bones.” (Proverbs 14:30)

Spiritually – you don’t seek after God as you did before; your faith decreases, and your don’t experience love, joy, and peace in your life.

To experience victory through forgiveness you must do the following:

  1. Acknowledge that you hurt and why you are hurting.
  2. Release your pain to God. Cast all your burdens upon the Lord because His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
  1. Allow your pain to heal by focusing on your new start, rather than the pain of the past.

Romans 8:37-39 says, “Amid these we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through God who loved us.”

When you cast your hurt; your pain; your guilt; shame; and regret on God, you no longer have to carry it. You have transferred it to God.   Therefore, it can no longer burden you (weigh you down). So you are FREE to move forward by discovering and fulfilling your God-given purpose.

When you discover and fulfill your God-given purpose you will undoubtedly experience joy, peace and fulfillment.

So I challenge you today to discover your God-given purpose and fulfill it.

Remembering My First Love

January 8, 2015

Jesus Christ is my first love.

I love Him because He first loved me.

He has been a true and faithful friend,

Since I accepted him as my Lord and Savior.

He is always there,

And never leaves me with burdens I cannot bear.

He leads and walks with me,

So I can spiritually see.

He comforts and talks with me along life’s stony road,

Which helps me press toward the finish line – my heavenly abode.

What an honor to experience His awesome glory.

His Word is the most beautiful life story.

I’ve got to keep pressing, pressing my way,

For Jesus Christ is my first love everyday.

In His Presence there is love

That ascends upon you like a dove.

It surrounds you with comfort like a blanket.

In His presence you have immeasurable peace that removes all of your doubts and worries of the day.

If only you will take the time to enter into God’s presence everyday.

He is waiting for you to open the door;

And receive all the things He has for you in store.

Enter His presence today.

Reaching Forth in Christ Jesus

December 22, 2012

We strive to do what is right.

Making sure our spiritual light shines bright.

We are the children of God, and desire to be one with Him.

But it takes dedication, loyalty, and commitment to follow His Word.

It is important for us to stay close to Jesus in these last and evil days,

because Satan would love to destroy our righteous ways.

Be strong, be vigilant, and steadily walk.

Just don’t play a game with just talk.

God knows our every thought and action,

So don’t delay, stay on the straight and narrow road using traction.

GOD IS LOVE.  He is the truth and the way.

Our Christian walk with Jesus Christ is real, and we should not play.

Press on, press on and reach forth for the things of God in love.

We have a calling and purpose that God has ordained from heaven above.

Don’t be anxious to do those things that require great and less,

Because God’s timing is the best.

Rest in Him, and He will show you the rest.

Jesus, the Friend that Sticks Closer than a Brother

August 15, 2011

“This is My commandment: that you love one another [just] as I have loved you.

No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends.  You are My friends if you keep on doing the things which I command you to do.”  (John 15:12-14)

Friend – is someone who regards you so highly that they want to be there when you need them; someone who says when everyone else goes.

What kind of friend Jesus is not:

  1. Jesus is not a fair weather friend who disappears when things get tough.  In prosperity our friends know us, in our adversity we know our friends.  Jesus will never leave me or forsake me.

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]  Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief, ease, refreshment, recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.”  (Matthew 11:28-29)

  1. Jesus is not an unfaithful friend who stabs you in the back to get what he wants; betrays you.  For example, Joseph’s brothers betrayed him.  Judas betrayed Jesus.   Jesus is faithful all the time.  You can count on God to be faithful.  Jesus stand sup to defend me forever.  Jesus is loyal, faithful and true.
  1. A friends in “word” only – speaks the language of a fried, but they see you in trouble and won’t life their hands.  Jesus loves me enough to sacrifice.
  1. A friend you can buy, which has no value.  You don’t have to buy Jesus’ friendship.  Jesus will always be my friend and nothing can separate your friendship.  “Nothing in my hands I bring; simply to the cross I cling.”
  1. A friend that will flatter you.  Tell you what you want to hear.  A true friend will consider your feelings, but will tell you the truth.  Jesus does not flatter.  Jesus convicts you of wrongdoing, and stick s closer to you than a brother.  Faithful are the wounds of a friend.  Jesus will always be there for me.

Be careful how you choose your friends because they will influence you for good or for bad.  Some friends will be there for portions of your life.  Some friends will always be there for you – JESUS.

I pray that you will:

  • Thank God for your friends.
  • Choose Jesus to be your friend and pray that He will give you the grace to be His friend.
  • This message will take root in your heart and you will apply it in your life.
