You are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

October 6, 2017

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”  (Psalm 139:14)

The Hebrew word for fearfully is yare (yaw ray) which means to revere (respect).

The Hebrew word for “wonderfully” is palah (pawwah) which means to put a difference, show marvelous, set apart.

When God made you, He made you a respectable marvelous masterpiece.  He carefully formed you with unique character and personality and designed you with unique spiritual gifts to use to bless others and give Him glory.

He created you with a unique purpose. Once you discover your purpose and start fulfilling your purpose, then you will have inner fulfillment, peace, and joy.  When you walk i your purpose, you walk in fulfillment; you walk in Divine Completeness, and no man and no circumstance, or trial and tribulation can stop you.  When you walk in your purpose, you open the door of prosperity.  God has given power to get wealth; your gift will make room for itself.  When you walk in your purpose you walk in what God has set apart for you to do, and you please God.

Tearing Down the Walls

September 21, 2015

Many people have walls that encase them in an emotional prison, which stifles their spiritual growth and prevents them from living a life of joy and fulfillment.

The Torn Walls

Walls, Walls, Walls.

Some are made of concrete and wood.

Some are physical and spiritual.

Many people use them as barriers to close themselves in, and to shut others out. The reasons for these barriers range from being alone to hiding one’s true motives needs, and desires. These walls prevent us from walking in the true light where JESUS CHRIST guides our steps.

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delighteth in his way.”   (Psalm 37:23)

“A man’s heart deviseth his way, but the Lord directeth his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)

For God said in the Word, walk as children of the light and be ambassadors for Christ, for I am the truth, the way, and the life. As my representatives, you must walk as I walk, and talk as I talk, or you are none of mine.

Remember, you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32)

Like constructed walls are designed to support the foundation in a house, so our spiritual walls of love, joy, peace, faith, truth, temperance, endurance, and meekness, support and elevate our spirit, which is rooted and grounded in the foundation – Jesus Christ.

If these spiritual walls are not firmly in place, we will surely become like a landfill – wide open to receive all kinds of debris in the form of false doctrines, founded on manipulative schemes, which will undoubtedly cause confusion in the greatest degree.

These walls inhibit them from moving past their pain into God’s plan of love, joy, peace, and abundance.

The only way they can move past their pain is to tear down the walls they have built by:

(1)       Accepting the truth about themselves

(2)       Asking God to heal their heart, mind, and emotions

(3)       Forgiving themselves and the person(s) who hurt and mistreated them

Then and only then can they leave the past and move forward and live a joyful and victorious life in Jesus Christ.

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” (Philippians 3:13)

How many of you have built walls that you want to tear down?

SELF EVALUATION – be truthful; don’t wear a mask.

“We Wear the Mask” – Paul Laurence Dunbar

We wear the mask that grins and lies,
It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes,–
This debt we pay to human guile;
With torn and bleeding hearts we smile,
And mouth with myriad subtleties.

Why should the world be overwise,
In counting all our tears and sighs?
Nay, let them only see us, while
We wear the mask.

We smile, but, O great Christ, our cries
To thee from tortured souls arise.
We sing, but oh the clay is vile
Beneath our feet, and long the mile;
But let the world dream otherwise,
We wear the mask!

Many of you are wearing a mask, but you must remove it so you can move forward in every area of your life – spiritually, physically, and emotionally, and live a joyful and victorious life in Jesus Christ.

Unforgiveness is like a 100-pound weight that is pressing down on you. The longer you allow the weight to press you down, the heavier the burden, and the harder it will be to remove it.

When you are burdened down, you become immobilized emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Emotionally – you become angry, resentful and bitter toward the people who hurt you and mistreated you. This also spills over into your relationships with friends, family, and spouse because you become irritable, harsh, unkind, ill-tempered, degrading, and unloving.

Physically – anger, resentment and bitterness causes stress, which manifest itself in sickness and disease.

“A calm and peaceful and tranquil heart is life and health to the body, but passion and envy are like rottenness to the bones.” (Proverbs 14:30)

Spiritually – you don’t seek after God as you did before; your faith decreases, and your don’t experience love, joy, and peace in your life.

To experience victory through forgiveness you must do the following:

  1. Acknowledge that you hurt and why you are hurting.
  2. Release your pain to God. Cast all your burdens upon the Lord because His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
  1. Allow your pain to heal by focusing on your new start, rather than the pain of the past.

Romans 8:37-39 says, “Amid these we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through God who loved us.”

When you cast your hurt; your pain; your guilt; shame; and regret on God, you no longer have to carry it. You have transferred it to God.   Therefore, it can no longer burden you (weigh you down). So you are FREE to move forward by discovering and fulfilling your God-given purpose.

When you discover and fulfill your God-given purpose you will undoubtedly experience joy, peace and fulfillment.

So I challenge you today to discover your God-given purpose and fulfill it.

In His Presence there is love

It surrounds you with comfort like a blanket.

In His presence you have immeasurable peace that removes all of your doubts and worries of the day.

If only you will take the time to enter into God’s presence everyday.

He is waiting for you to open the door;

And receive all the things He has for you in store.

Barriers to Walking the Path of Truth

Seeking the Face of God

July 25, 2011

When we seek God’s Face, we behold beauty and glory,

which takes us beyond the tallest building story.

Walking, running, and yielding toward God’s way

on the straight and narrow path we will stay.

A path full of love, joy, peace, and blessings,

if we are faithful to trust God through our testings.

O God, faithful and true,

thanks for leading and guiding us always to you.

Worshipping God in Spirit

July 4, 2011

Worshipping God “in spirit” means with reverence, attentiveness, and having the right purpose of honoring God, while understanding what we are doing.  (Hebrews 12:28-29) says, “Let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.  For our God is a consuming fire.”  Our worship must glorify God.  (1 Corinthians 6:20) says, “For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

In order to worship God in the right spirit, we must take time before worship to make ready our hearts and emotions so we will be in the proper frame of mind.  We read in Psalms 89:7, “God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be held in reverence by all those around Him.”  Our worship must show great reverence toward God. We must strive to please Him.  We should not hurry to worship or hurry through worship.  Our mind must be ready, attentive, and alert so we can worship God in spirit and truth.

Our worship to God must be done in a worthy manner –  a manner that brings glory and honor to God.  In showing reverence and respect to God, We should not be indifferent and inattentive in worshipping God.  Worshipping God is holy.  Our character in worship must also be holy.  In 1 Peter 1:15-16 we read, “But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in your conduct, because it is written, Be holy for I am holy.”  Worship which is insincere, that is not from the heart, is vain, useless, and unacceptable to God.  Jesus says, “This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.” (Mark 7:6)

Worship is a time of joy, and a time of offering thanks, adoration, love, praying, singing praises to God, feeding on His Word.
