Transcending the Ordinary

August 5, 2018

God is a God of possibility who is able to do what seems to be impossible to us.  We must believe.

But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him.  For whoever would come near to God must believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him out. (Hebrews 11:6 AMP)

God can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20)

God is the master of transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary — like a caterpillar changes into a butterfly.  God dictates the timing and progress of change based upon our will and desire to change and to meet the conditions necessary to effect the change.

WE NEED ONLY BELIEVE in His Word, His Power, and His Authority and apply it in our lives.

Let your hearts be at rest

and you will receive God’s best.

Know that He is there to lead and guide you through the toils and pains of life,

Molding, shaping, and transforming you; deepening your depths and stregthening your heart without strife.

Acknowledge Him to be your Lord and King,

And you will never doubt anything.

I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. (Psalm 91:2)

When you truly put our faith and trust in Him,

You allow Him to convert the ordinary into the extraordinary.

We can experience this conversion everyday,

if by God’s side, we will stay.

The God of Possibility

May 18, 2018

. . . with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)

Possible – capable of existing; being true, being accomplished; being used for a particular purpose.

There are many benefits to trusting God, and putting our faith in His Word.  As we continue to  feast on the Word, it penetrates our hearts and minds, renewing them, and thereby changing our thoughts and attitudes.

The more we feast on the Word, the quicker the limits we place on God will be removed.  Limits that have been implanted through:

  1. Unbelief, doubt, and worry;
  2. Believing what others say about God;
  3. The indoctrinalization by parents and other persons of influence; and
  4. Walking according to our own imagination and feelings.

God wants us to remove the limits because as we place limits on His ability to fulfill His promises, we correspondingly place limits on our receiving the fullness of our blessings and our ability to fulfill our God-given purposes.

When we remove the limits through reading, studying, and meditating on the Word of God, we can soar like an eagle through the sky.  We can know with assurance through the most difficult circumstances, that “God is able to do the impossible.”

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust:  his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. (Psalm 91:4)

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Be not wise in thine own  eyes:  fear the Lord, and depart from evil. (Proverbs 3:5-7)

Some trust in and boast of chariots and some of horses, but we will trust in and boast of the name of the Lord our God.  They are bowed down and fallen, but we are risen and stand upright.  (Psalm 20:7-8)

By trusting in God we:

  1. Receive strength mightier than the Rock of Gibraltar;
  2. Receive joy that is everlasting through God’s everlasting presence;
  3. Receive our heart’s desire;
  4. Receive blessings to be a blessing.
  5. Receive a crown of pure gold, representing the purity of our heart, mind, and soul.
  6. Receive long life.
  7. Receive great glory.
  8. Receive splendor and majesty.

When we trust in God unreservedly (without an ounce of doubt), we place ourselves in a “Risen” position and remain there.  However, once doubt creeps in, we immediately begin to fall away, our faith begins to weaken, and we begin to lose sight of God and His purposes for our lives

WE MUST STAY FOCUSED and REMOVE THE LIMITS IN OUR LIVES.

The Branch of Christ

October 20, 2017

THE BRANCH

The branch looks insignificant to our eyes,

But in reality it is a reflection of our heart in disguise.

God prunes the branches so it can bear more fruit and more blessings.

This is achieved through our testings.

The testings we experience are designed to increase our faith and patience.

Knowing and embracing that God is our strength and promoter – our source for all our needs.

As we trust and obey Him through our deeds.

God prunes our branches everyday.

If by abiding in Him (the Word) we will stay.

The branch is intricately connected to the vine (Jesus Christ)

Our source of treasures divine.

Treasures of love, joy, and peace;

That will never cease.

THE BRANCH OF CHRIST

Jesus is the vine – the foundation from which branches (Christians) grow.

The branch is a byproduct of Jesus with the same infrastructure as God.  It is intimately and intricately attached to the vine, and its very life is dependent upon the vine (Jesus Christ – The Word).  The vine is the life-giver to the branch.  It contains all the necessary nutrients needed for the branch to grow.  The life of the branch is totally dependent on the vine (Jesus Christ – Word of God).

The Word is the nourishment for the branch, and Christians are the branches.  In order to grow, we must obtain the proper nourishment – we must get into the Word of God by reading, studying, and meditating on the Word of God.

We must remain constant (steadfast – unmovable – rooted and grounded) in the Word in order to continue growing (advancing).  If we stop abiding (dwelling) in the Word, we stop growing.  If we are not growing then we can’t bear fruit.

Abide in me, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye except ye abide in me. (John 15:4-5)

Abide – to sojourn; dwell; remain

Fruit – the offspring of living things; the results of fulfilling the goals and purposes that God has ordained for our life.

Therefore, in order for Christians to bear fruit, we must:

  •  Abide in Jesus Christ (The Word).  Develop an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ so that we develop the character of Christ in our lives, and be true Ambassadors for Christ.
  • Allow the Word to remain in us. Our hearts and minds must be filled with the Word of God; let it outpour from the very depths of our soul through our confessing the Word over our lives and circumstances, and testifying to what Jesus has and is doing in our lives.

The power of life and death is in the tongue.

We overcome the world by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of our testimony. (Revelation 12:1)

Live the Word.  Apply God’s Word in every area of our lives.  This includes:

*   Giving

*  Praying

*  Marriage

*  Relating to Others

*  Fellowshiping with others

As we live the Word, we Walk in the Spirit.

When we (branches/Christians) are constantly nurtured by the Word of God, then we are constantly developing the mind and character (thoughts an attitudes) of Jesus Christ.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:2)

As our thoughts and attitudes are transformed, then our actions (fruit) become Christ-like

and give glory and honor to God.

As we (Christians) take the steps necessary to bear fruit, we are walking worthy of God because [Colossians 1:9-10] says:

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.

Benefits of Bearing Fruit are:

Joy is everlasting.  Our joy becomes everlasting as we continue to abide in the love of Jesus Christ.  Our lives must reflect the love of Jesus Christ toward our brothers, sisters and enemies.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love. (I John 4:7-8)

You may ask, what does it mean when it says ”God is love”. It means that God’s thoughts and ways reflect (show) love.  We see God’s thoughts and ways through his son, Jesus – how Jesus acted in many different situations and responded and related to people. We know that this is how God would act because Jesus says I only do what I see my Father do.  So our example of love is Jesus Christ, who sacrificed his life, so we would be saved from eternal death in hell.  We are to follow in his footsteps in thought, word, and action.

Let brotherly love continue. (Hebrews 13:1)

It is important that we walk in love because when we walk in love, we walk in the nature and character of Jesus Christ, and produce fruit that is a byproduct of love. It is a byproduct of love because the very source of the fruit is love.  In the Word, God says that one of the fruits of the Sprit is LOVE.  (Galatians 5:22)

When we walk in love, we walk in righteousness (holiness).  God command us to love one another.

This is my commandment, that ye love one another as I have loved you. (John 15:12)

These things I command you that ye love one another. (John 15:17)

Help others by edifying (lifting) and ministering to them.

Consequences of Not Abiding in Jesus are:

  1. You become detached from Jesus like a branch detached from a tree, which cannot bear fruit because it is no longer connected to its source of  nourishment. It’s not getting what it needs to grow and produce fruit.
  2. You wither away spiritually, physically, and mentally.
  3. Men begin to use you for their own destructive purposes.  You are no longer of use for the kingdom of God.  Don=t be a branch that is severed from the vine and cast to the ground to be gathered for burning; be a branch that dwells in Jesus and produces much fruit – results from God-given purposes and goals.

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. (John 15:16)

You didnt choose me, I chose you and appointed you to produce fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. (John 15:16)

What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed?  For the end of those things is death.  But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end of everlasting life. (Romans 6:21-22)

Were you bearing fruit when you were a slave to sin?  No, because those things you did caused shame and only resulted in death.  The wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23)

When you became saved through confession and believing in Jesus Christ, you became a servant to God, and only what you do becomes fruitful because your thoughts and actions are righteous (holy).

What you do for Christ will last.

You are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

October 6, 2017

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”  (Psalm 139:14)

The Hebrew word for fearfully is yare (yaw ray) which means to revere (respect).

The Hebrew word for “wonderfully” is palah (pawwah) which means to put a difference, show marvelous, set apart.

When God made you, He made you a respectable marvelous masterpiece.  He carefully formed you with unique character and personality and designed you with unique spiritual gifts to use to bless others and give Him glory.

He created you with a unique purpose. Once you discover your purpose and start fulfilling your purpose, then you will have inner fulfillment, peace, and joy.  When you walk i your purpose, you walk in fulfillment; you walk in Divine Completeness, and no man and no circumstance, or trial and tribulation can stop you.  When you walk in your purpose, you open the door of prosperity.  God has given power to get wealth; your gift will make room for itself.  When you walk in your purpose you walk in what God has set apart for you to do, and you please God.

Enter Into His Rest

September 15, 2017

Rest – to stop; forbear, hold peace, quiet self; wait; be still; comfortable ease; peaceful consolation

In order to enter into REST we must quiet ourselves and be still, trusting in God and holding on to His promises.  Knowing that He is just and faithful, and will uphold His promises.  He is not a God that lies.  God is in control.

When you rest you enter a comfortable ease where there is no worrying or fretting; no frustration; but peace that surpasses all understanding.

God desires for us to abide (dwell, remain, become rooted) in this state of rest (waiting for His direction) instead of going forward on our thoughts and emotions.  Our thoughts and emotions will lead us in one direction, but God’s guidance will lead us in the right direction – moving us ever forward.  However, we must enter into a “Rest” mode and patiently wait.  God is in control.

Trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) in the Lord and do good; so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on His faithfulness, and truly you shall be fed.  Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord; trust also in Him and He will bring it to pass. (Psalm 37:3-5 (AMP)

As we continue to abide in comfortable ease, knowing that God is in control, then He will open doors of knowledge, revelation, and strength.  We expand our spiritual horizons and become greater blessings to others.

Give, and gifts will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour into [the pouch formed by] the bosom.  For with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others, it will be measured back to you.  (Luke 6:38 AMP)

As we bless others, God blesses us in ways we cannot imagine.  He is the Blesser and Controller of our lives.  If we follow Him, we will never fail.

PATIENTLY WAITING

Father with everything I’ve been through,

Considering all the enemy has sought to do,

I cast every fear, doubt, and confusion very comfortably on you.

You know who I am and who I want to be.

You know all I need, and my hope to be planted as firmly grounded as a tree in thee.

I believe every vision and every desire of my heart has been

beautifully created by the creator’s finger art in part.

Now pressing towards the mark that you’ve carved in my heart.

I’ll continue to trust and believe my steps are ordered by you on

the path you’ve set and see,

and sometimes reveal to me.

Teach me Lord as I go along with all expectancy in You, that You are the God of all creation,

and all that I desire is mine if I patiently wait to see you, see me through.

Endued With Power

September 1, 2017

God has endued us with power from on high.

And behold, I will send forth upon you what my Father has promised:  but remain in the city [Jerusalem] until you are clothed with power from on high. (Luke 24:49)

Power – “authority”.

Endue – to put on and to be clothed with; to be skilled

(Luke 10:19) “Behold, I give unto you power and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

(Hebrews 2:14) “ . . . He himself in a similar manner partook of the same [nature] of human beings], He himself partook of the same [nature], that by [going through] death He might bring to nought and make of no effect him who had the power of death – that is, the devil.”

With (God = Jesus = Word of God) on your side you cannot be defeated!!!  There is power (authority) in the Word.  Jesus used the Word to overcome satan’s temptations.

If satan is prevailing over you and defeating you, then it has to be for one of the following reasons:  (1) A lack of knowledge of your authority over him; (2) knowing your authority, but failing to act upon it; (3) knowing and using your authority, but giving up too quickly because you are deceived into thinking that you cannot win.  Jesus you are my strength in the time of trouble, disappointment, and discouragement.

Trials and adversities may come our way, but they cannot keep us from living a victorious life.  Psalm 34:19 states “Many evils confront the consistently righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.” With God on your side, you cannot be defeated if you trust in , rely, and are confident in the Lord Jesus Christ.

No matter what comes against us, it will not succeed if we stand in the authority that Jesus has conferred upon us.  In Luke 10:19 we read, “Behold I give unto you power to tread upon serpents, and scorpions, and over all of the power of the enemy, and by no means shall anything hurt you.”

As a Child of God, you have the power to overcome.  According to I John 4:4, God said that,  “. . .you are of God  and have defeated and overcome them [the agents of antichrist], because he who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world.”

Walking in Victory “That You Have Overcome”

Victory means deliverance, help, safety, and triumph.

Triumph means to overcome, conquer, joyful, and rejoice.

Victory is a sign that you have overcome conditions and circumstances through dependence on Jesus Christ, which is the only way you can experience victory.  When one has overcome a negative condition or circumstance, his natural response is to rejoice because he is no longer pinned under or bound by the condition or circumstance.  Therefore, he becomes free to experience joy which yields rejoicing = triumph = victory.

(Romans 8:37)  “ . . . in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him (Jesus Christ) that loves us.”

(I John 5:4-5) “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:  and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God.”

(Revelation 12:11)  “And they overcame him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ), and by the word of their testimony . . .”

Defeat is not God’s plan for your life.

The key to remaining UNDEFEATED is believing, trusting, and relying on the Word of God.  This requires using the R-Reading S-Studying;M- Meditating method.  As you engage in the R-S-M  Method, you will develop a closer relationship with Jesus Christ and experience true love, joy, and peace beyond measure – heavenly treasure.

When you use the power God has given you, everything you do succeeds, flourishes, and thrives because of the Word working mightily in you.  Jesus is your strength in the time of trouble, disappointment, and discouragement.  He is the peace that calms all of my storms, and removes all of my fears.  He is the rock upon which I stand, and upon which my faith is founded.  He takes you to higher spiritual heights, so you can soar on the wings of understanding and wisdom.

Wisdom is the principal thing, and requires you to lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all of your heart, mind, and soul.  It requires knowing and recognizing that God is ALL MIGHTY and POWERFUL and acknowledging Him in all things.

Beyond the Valley

March 17, 2017

A valley is a low plain; a low point or interval in any process, representation, or situation; any place, period, or situation that is filled with fear, gloom, foreboding; such as the valley of despair.

When you are in a valley, you can do one of two things – not move (remain stagnant) or move upward. When you experience valleys of life such as the betrayal of a friend; the loss of a loved one; or financial disaster, God does not want you to stay in the valley; He wants you to come up out of the valley.

Many people choose to stay in the valley because they lose hope and then experience despair. They lose hope because they depend upon people rather than God, to help them come up out of the valley.

God wants you to come up Higher. However, you must desire to come out of the state of lowliness, and rise to higher ground. God desires for you to grow and go from one level to another level; constantly climbing until you reach the top of the mountain, where you can remain if you trust and obey God.

 “Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.” (Proverbs 3:5-7)

Remember, you can always depend on Jesus Christ, He is always there for you, and will always supply your every need.

And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

God will always lead you on the straight and narrow path that leads to righteousness.

Abide in Me (Jesus)

Abide in Jesus and He will not depart.

He will flow blessings to you from the start.

Remember that He is Lord of your life,

And through Him you can avoid strife.

He is always with you, no matter what comes your way.

Just trust in His Word (promises) and you will be well on your way to reaching new heights of wisdom and understanding.

Never veer from your God-given purposes each day,

Because God will constantly reveal them to you every step of the way.

Don’t be conformed to this world of wickedness,

Focus on staying on the straight and narrow road of righteousness.

WOMAN

You are of value.

Don’t be afraid to hold your head high when you cross the valleys in the twilight.

You got to make it through the night

Before you reach the mountain top and see daylight.

Once you reach the top of the mountain,

Your victory does not end there BECAUSE you got to remain within the light.

The light is truth revealed by GOD.
