Everything you have belongs to God.  Faithfulness has to do with how well you manage what God has loaned you.  How do you use what God has given you (time, talents, and treasure [money]).  God will see how well you manage the little things in your life, before He gives you more responsibility.  God does this to see if you can be trusted with the true riches of God’s Kingdom.

The purpose of life is to prepare you for eternity.

Do you spend your time praying to God?

Do you go to church and worship God?

Do you praise the Lord Jesus Christ in church and at home?

Do you give clothes that you have outgrown to those in need of clothes?

Do you consistently use your gift of drawing?

Do you start writing a book and then leave it uncompleted?

Do you continue to use your creativity by designing tote bags, painting clay pots, creating hairstyles?

Do you give tithes and offerings unto God?

Do you give money to others who have a need?

Four Qualities of Faithfulness are:

Trustworthiness – dependable and reliable to do what you say and promise.

Loyal – Can Jesus Christ rely on one to put his interest before mine.  To avoid temptation to reject and forsake Jesus Christ.  (Example  Judas – betrayed Jesus; Peter – denied Jesus 3 times under pressure)  (Examples of Loyalty are Daniel – willing to die for his beliefs in continuing to maintain his relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer;

Job – he withstood the loss of children, animals, and resources, but never denied God)

Responsible – given an account for what you are responsible for.  You know what needs to be one, and you do it the best way you can.  Use your time, talents, and treasure that pleases God, rather than yourself and other people.

Obedient – carries out instructions of the owner (God). Jesus is King of Kings, and a king’s invitation is never to be answered, but obeyed.

Arise for the Lord has come.

Arise – to get up; to rise up; to move upward

An example of Arise is when you awake out of sleep you sit up in the bed, then you stand up.  You have taken two (2) steps to Arise – sitting up and standing up.  When you sat up, your upper body was raised from your waist to your head, and the next level or rising was standing- your entire body was raised from your head to your feet.

“And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?  But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy),

I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.  And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all . . .” (Mark 8:8-12)

In order for the man to Arise, he had to sit up and stand up.  Therefore, he experienced 2 levels of rising.  When he sat up, his upper body was raised from his waist to his head), and when he stood, his entire body was raised form his feet to his head  Only when he experienced these 2 levels of rising could he walk. Walking requires taking steps forward.  When you walk, you constantly move forward.

Like this man who had palsy, God wants His children to ARISE so they can move forward in life –   Forward in knowledge and understanding of God’s Word so they can apply it in their lives and share their knowledge and wisdom with others.

God wants his children to arise in Him by walking (constantly taking steps forward) in uprightness.  That is in:

  • Reverencing God
  • Worshipping God
  • Praising God
  • Reading His Word
  • Studying His Word
  • Meditating on His Word
  • Obeying His Word

God doesn’t want you to take what life throws you – “oh whatever this day brings I’ll take it; living without purpose. He has given you a purpose and He wants you to fulfill it.  God has given you a destiny so that you can bear much fruit.

“For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.” (Jeremiah 29:11 – AMP)

“For we are God’s own handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us (taking paths which He prepared ahead of time), that we should walk in them living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live). (Ephesians 2:10 – AMP)

Many of you are so comfortable in your “beds of ease” that you don’t have a desire (a passion) to arise (go to levels) that will move you forward to where God wants you to be.  So rather than arise from your “beds of comfort and ease”, you settle and accept the level of life you are on.  But God is calling you to Arise to levels that may be uncomfortable.  Levels where you may experience trials and tribulations such as discrimination on your job; or ridicule and scorn if you stand up against what you believe.  However, in order to Move Forward like the man with palsy, You Are Going to Have to ARISE.

If you don’t move forward in life, you BECOME STAGNANT – still; not flowing; not changing or growing; failing to progress.

God does not want His children to stagnate, but to always move forward.  In order to move forward, you have to submit to God’s way and not your way.  God’s way is always the best and will Always Keep You Moving on the Straight and Narrow Road of Success.

Your way of doing things will always lead you off the path of righteousness and on to the path of destruction. “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” (Proverbs 16:25)

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. ” (Psalm 1:1-2)

In Psalm 1:3 it says  “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

The Tree of Life

Is the tree that is rooted and grounded in Jesus Christ.

It depends and trusts in Jesus for the sustenance of its life.

Its roots go deeper and spread wider as it reaches maturity.

It sprouts fruit that is good for edification and spiritual and physical growth. Its leaves restore health and prosperity.

The tree is constantly nurtured by Living Waters that reach beyond the sky.

And flow from rivers as far as the East is to the West that never runs dry.

The Living Waters is the Word of God, which facilitates constant growth and maturity.

Won’t you become the tree of life today?

If you choose “NO”, you will have to pay.

“I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser.  Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit (stops bearing) he cuts away; and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer excellent fruit.” (John 15:1)

“Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. (John 15:8)

Therefore, when you follow God’s Word you will produce fruit and bear much fruit. You will use your mind and body to be a productive vessel of God.  For example, you may use your hands to write a book that contains a message from God that encourages and comforts the reader, which moves them off the Path of Despair and onto the Path of Hope.

Joshua gives us the key to Moving Forward in life.  In Joshua 1:8, it says

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

The key to Moving Forward is to read, study and meditate on the Word of God, and apply it in your life; then you’ll stay on the straight and narrow road that leads to an Abundant Life and Eternal Life in Heaven, and you’ll become rooted and grounded in the Word of God. Just like a potato seed you plant in the ground.  If you don’t nurture the seed by watering it, it will never become rooted and grounded and produce potatoes.  It will just be sitting in soil; not growing; it will become STAGNANT.

“The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like the palm tree [be long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful]; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible].  Planted in the house of the Lord, they shall flourish in the courts of our God.” (Psalm 92:12-13 AMP)

Flourish means to thrive; constantly increase.  Therefore, the uncompromisingly righteous – those that are doers of the Word of God, and not hearers only, shall thrive and constantly increase spiritually, mentally, emotional, and financially (in every area of their life.

So Make a Decision to ARISE TODAY, and experience the abundant life that God has already ordained for you.

God Wants You to Prosper

May 12, 2013

Plant Your Seed

 Nurture Your Seed

 Expect Your Harvest

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” (3 John 1:2)

Prosper – have good success; be profitable; succeed in reaching

It is clear that God wants us to be profitable and have good success.  Success is not gained by having many material things such as a big house, 3 cars, and 3 closets full of clothes.

Success is using your God-given talents for the glory of God.

No, I’m not just listing nouns, but qualities, needed for achievement of success.

Success, that achievement that everyone desires and wishes to experience.  While  traveling the road of success, one

experiences many mountains, which must be climbed.

Although it seems impossible at times, it can be accomplished only if one possesses:

And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to me in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances, and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].   (I Corinthians 9:8)

According to the Word of God in II Corinthians 9:8, God is the source for all your blessings, and He will abundantly provide all that you need to do what He has called you to do.

Plant Your Seed

Joyce Meyer wrote a book entitled “Prepare to Prosper”.  In this book, she indicated that it is important to plant seeds in the Kingdom of God.  Once you plant seeds then a harvest will result.  If you never plant seeds, you will never reap a harvest.  In Galatians 6:7, the Word of God says whatever you sow, you shall reap.  For example, if you sow love and kindness in the lives of others, people will love you and be kind to you.   On the other hand, if you sow jealousy and strife, you will experience this in your life. When you sow your time and talents by serving others through ministry, you reap the benefits that come from helping others, such as encouragement and joy.

If you sow (give) financially into a ministry, then you will receive an increase in your personal finances.  However, when you sow financially, it is important for you to make sure that the ministry you are sowing into teaches sound doctrine (the true and whole Word of God).  In this way, you insure that you are sowing in good fertile ground that will reap a harvest.

Give and it shall be given unto you, good measure pressed down and shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto your bosom.  (Luke 6:38)

When you give, this sets in motion the process of receiving.  If you never give, you will never receive.

. . . It is more blessed to give than to receive.  (Acts 20:35)

God makes us prosperous not only physically, but also spiritually (increased revelation and understanding of the Word of God) and materially (land and goods).

Many Christians have a “Poverty” mentality.  However, each and everyone of us must make a decision to allow our spirit, mind, and mouth to line up in agreement

with God.  His thoughts are not our thoughts, and His ways are not our ways. When we believe and trust in the Word of God, WE ARE UNDEFEATABLEWe must develop a “Prosperous Mentality” and maintain an expectant attitude; then we will reap a constant abundant harvest.

Nurture Your Seed

Nurture – to make sure that the seed gets the proper nourishment it needs to grow.

It is important to nurture your seed through faith in the Word of God so it will grow.  If you don’t nurture you seed, it will not grow and eventually wither and die.

In Hebrews 10:38, it says “the just shall live by faith.”

“Just” refers to God’s children, and “faith” refers to believing, trusting, and depending on God’s Word.

It is important to confess the Word of God over your seed because there is power in the Word of God.  When you exercise faith in the Word of God, you are availing yourself to power contained in the Word of God.  The power contained in the Word of God will cause your seed to grow and flourish.

“Those who are planted in the house of God shall flourish like the palm tree”.  (Psalm 92:12)

So shall my Word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that, which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.  (Isaiah 55:11)

Expect Your Harvest

Expect – to look forward to

After you have planted your seed and nurture it, you will reap a Harvest.

The Greek word for harvest is “therismos”, which means reaping. The more you nurture the seed you have sown through trusting, believing, and relying on the Word of God, the greater the harvest you will receive.  This is analogous to the process of sowing:

 Seed      =       Word of God

Ground =       Heart

Harvest =       Revelation of Truth, Understanding, and Wisdom

Once you sow the (Seed = Word of God) it will be prosperous, but the (Ground = heart) must be constantly nurtured by faith and hope in the Word of God in order to yield fruit that constantly increases (yields more and more fruit).

Karmen A. Booker has been called by God to exhort and teach others the Word of God.  She is the founder of Wings of Love Women’s Ministry (WLWM), which creates an atmosphere and forum where women can realize healing and spiritual growth, while cultivating their God-given gifts and ministering in their local churches and their communities and the world.

WLWM’s desire is to connect with other women who have battled abuse in their lives, and who have been held back from moving forward for whatever reason. We seek to encourage victims of abuse to go forth and grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ with more commitment & boldness, knowing that through healing and restoration “the good work God has began in them He will complete.’’

WLWM offers ministry resources such as “Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts”, which is designed to encourage you to discover your God-given spiritual gifts so you can use them to help and bless others, while growing in your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Go to
