Initiating the Exchange

God is love, and God gives.  He provides all of our needs and gives us the desires of our hearts.  However, there is a part that we must play.

We must:

1.              Accept Jesus Christ in to our heart and become saved (Romans 10:9-10)

2.              Read and study the Word of God. (II Timothy 2:15)  The Word is life unto your soul and health to all your bones.

3.              Meditate on the Word of God (Joshua 1:8)

4.              Give to God through others (ex. tithing, giving to the poor. (Malachi 3:8-11; Luke 6:38; II Corinthians 9:7)

A.             God looks at the heart, man looks at the outer appearance.

B.             God looks at your motivation for giving; man looks at what he gave.

C.             God delights in how your giving benefits others; man looks at what he had to gain through giving such as a tax write off or good name.

When we give with the right motive (LOVE) God blesses us abundantly so that we can continue to give to others for the Glory of God.

God is pleased when we do things out of love, rather than grudgingly, or when we expect things in return.  Our first priority should be to please God.

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;  That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;  Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; (Colossians 1:9-11)

All of those elements combined together initiate the exchange between you and God, and you will experience immeasurable love, joy, and peace
